OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND GPS COORDINATES

So...yes...I put off school supply shopping until the LAST day....I know...don't complain.  (Yeah, right!)
I think that someone should invent a new store...rivaling Walmart chaotic shopping madness.......which ready packs ALL supplies for every school, every grade and just says..."Okay...here ya go...that'll be $____".   I would SO JUMP for joy.  ("Yippeee!!!!! ")

Two things that teachers need to understand about small town shopping....they run out of necessities like 1st grade plastic storage boxes and zipper bags for the older ones....FIRST!!!  AND....if you ask for a specific spiral notebook brand for a 1st grader......I'll fight you tooth and nail...because I won't be able to find it.  Not here....and I'm NOT making a special trip to a larger town 30 miles away with 3 kids in tow to find ONE 'SACRED' SPIRAL NOTEBOOK.  It's NOT happenin'.....Just wanted you to know.   Please adjust your sails accordingly.....LOL

MY SUGGESTION....IF you want a specific 'brand' name of notebook on your 1st grade list....
Buy a whole STACK of them when you find what you want.....and I'll give YOU the cash.  OR...you need to give me GPS coordinates on where EXACTLY to locate said object.......You'll make me VERY HAPPY that way.

Also on our list for the 1st grader was "EAR BUDS".....okay....purchased.....but now Little T thinks he gets to take his iPod to school.  Great!!!!   LOL

One more thing about shopping for school supplies with the kids and the other thousands of people in the aisles with us......The week before school starts, the stores should....CRANK UP THE AIR CONDITIONER!!!!!!!!!     That way, I won't have to say...."Hey, kids....we need to go ALL THE WAY across the store to the milk section.....JUST SO I CAN COOL OFF...before I have a melt down!!!!"
Yeah for the milk refrigerators!!!!!!.....(and we did REALLY need milk anyway....)  ;0)

Okay.......I'm done.....I now hope that our new awesome teachers will accept my kids into their classrooms....and not hold the "Ranting Mom" thing against them.  ;-)

  2. I live in a big city and I feel your pain - school supply shopping is CRAZY!!! The special notebook, the specific pencil pouch, the 400 tubs of Clorox wipes, kleenex boxes and oh! the calculator - the xoT783847569032 special edition one that you can't find in the WHOLE state! Uuuggghhhhh.........drives me nuts. I think I will head to the milk section! ;)
    Great job, G!

  3. Shopping is an adventure- especially for the retail employees, that must deal with frustrated, upset, and verbal assaults of ranting parents in the poorly air conditioned facility, that have no control over anything except their attitude. Please remember to be kind on you shopping adventure!!

  4. Okay...so in response to 'Shopping is an adventure'.....
You need to understand that I am one of the nicest most patient shoppers that has ever graced a Walmart....I know everybody in there...graduated with most of them...
would NEVER be rude to them....also, I know that the climate in the Walmart is not controlled by anyone local...it's outsourced by whoever controls the money in Bothswania or something......
The 'turn it up'...It was just a suggestion.....

Also....I actually sometimes say Hi to the employees...BEFORE they say anything to me....and my kids are like "WHO WAS THAT MOM????" Me: "I don't have any idea."
Same thing is said when I wave at people in town....my kids should be used to it by now, Huh?? :0)
And....so, in summation...from one of the Nicest Cupcake Shoppers you'll EVER meet....HAVE A NICE DAY!! & Thank you for shopping at Walmart! :0) G

  5. Dear G, I am requesting forgiveness..My previous post, poorly written I might add..was an attempt of a public service announcement to all.(I guess you would call it that) It was based upon a my own school supply adventure that happened in a store in Lubbock. (not Walmart--but similar) I stood amazed at the tolerance that an employee had, as she was verbally abused by 3 different customers in a matter of 10 mins. She then took a deep breath and smiled at me and said "how may I help you?". After my purchase, I called for the store manager and gave Kudos for the employee. The Manager said "thank you, that does not happen very often, it is usually a complaint that we have no control over". Not that your followers would be so inclined to act in that manner. Just a friendly reminder for all- SHOP often and Shop polite! Thank you for allowing me to clarify.

  6. Dear Polite Shopper:
I agree TOTALLY with you.....no harm done.
Water under the bridge...just keep floatin' with us. :0)
I appreciate VERY much the opportunity in here to voice opinions of what is WRONG with people...
this is one of them....There needs to be more patience and consideration of other people's feelings in the world....not only strangers...but feelings within our own families sometimes.
CLARIFICATION IS AWESOME!!!!! Come back and visit anytime. G
